Make sure to follow the Tread Lightly principles when out in the bush.

They are:

  • Take out what you take in. Even clean up the mess of others.
  • Stay on formed tracks.
  • Drive with minimal impact on 4WD tracks.
    • Lower tyre pressures if needed
  • Extinguish campfires with cold water until cold to the touch.
    • Check the Fire Danger
    • Are you allowed to have a fire?
    • Is it a Total Fire Ban Day?
  • Leave no trace of your visit.
    • Respect our flora and fauna. Stop and look, but never disturb
  • Be considerate of other bush users.
    • Private property owners, recreational trail users, campers, and anyone enjoying outdoor activities.
    • Allow others to enjoy their recreation undisturbed
  • Educate yourself.
    • Doing a 4WD course
    • Plan your trip, need to be aware of hazards, points of interest, campsites, and expected weather conditions, etc.
