Trips 2026

Street Art Melbourne – January

This was something to do over the quieter January period. We started at Southern Cross station and saw some of the best of Melbourne’s street art with Smug’s grandparents, one of the earlier mega pieces painted in 2016. Little Bourke Street for a set of 3 portraits by Smug, Rone, and Adnate, and a large piece of a couple by Fintan Magee.

Gallaghers Place a huge Melbourne piece by Mike Makatron, which includes a tram, further down a rainforest scene complete with treehouses and a waterfall. We found a fabulous indigenous portrait by Adnate down a small alley, and saw the new Dame Edna also by Adnate. Presgrave Place for miniature pieces and paste-ups, it also has a fabulous punk emu by Mont Murray. We looked at the new mural by Jasmin Crisp on the wall of Brunettis. where we stopped for coffee and cake.

We stopped at Town Hall station and went underground to see the very orange, but impressive architecture. Finders Lane to Higson Lane, which has interesting pieces, one of these being Pesto the penguin. ACDC Lane and Duckboard Place with more f Mort Murray emus and a Cyndi Lauper piece.

Finally off to Hosier Lane, which attracts a lot of tourists, we saw an Adnate piece way up on a building wall which most people miss. We finally ended up at Federation Square, about 5 hours later, and we had covered approximately 4km.
