A track grading classification scale has been developed to help Trip Leaders and participants understand the types of tracks they may encounter during a 4WD trip.
Most 4WD trips involve a variety of track conditions, each falling within a specific rating on the scale. Trip Leaders should inform participants of the expected range of track grades likely to be encountered on the planned route.
